Team Specialism: Clinical Soft Tissue Therapy, Oncology Massage, Shockwave Therapy, Complex/Chronic/Neurological conditions, SEN,
John founded Advance SRM Therapies in 2015 with a clear vision: to create a clinic centred on exceptional soft tissue therapy – delivered with skill, time and integrity.
With a Level 5 qualification in Clinical Soft Tissue Therapy (LSSM) and over a decade of clinical experience, John specialises in complex, persistent and performance-related presentations. His work combines detailed assessment, advanced hands-on treatment and a deep understanding of movement mechanics to support clients dealing with pain, dysfunction and long-standing issues.
John is particularly known for working with cases that haven’t resolved elsewhere – from chronic musculoskeletal pain to neurological conditions, post-surgical recovery and movement dysfunction. His approach is never formulaic. Each session is shaped around the individual in front of him, with careful consideration of lifestyle, stress, training load and wider health factors.
Before establishing Advance SRM, John had a successful career in education, including working as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher. This background profoundly shaped his clinical practice. He is highly skilled at adapting treatment to the individual – whether working with neurodivergent children, adults with complex neurological presentations, or clients who simply need a calmer, more considered approach.
Earlier in his career, John spent time in Japan teaching English and studying martial arts, immersing himself in traditions of discipline, movement and embodied awareness. His background in semi-professional rugby further strengthened his understanding of injury, resilience and physical adaptation – influences that continue to shape his philosophy of hands-on care.
Today, John leads the clinical direction of Advance SRM Therapies, mentoring the team and maintaining the high standards the clinic is known for. His work spans advanced clinical soft tissue therapy, oncology-informed treatment, pregnancy and postnatal support, postural correction, sports rehabilitation and shockwave therapy – but at its core, his focus remains the same: helping people move with greater ease, confidence and long-term resilience.
Outside the clinic, John is a dedicated father of four and lifelong student of movement. His commitment to continuous learning and ethical, patient-first care continues to shape Advance SRM as a trusted clinic for complex pain and recovery across Hampshire.
At Advance SRM Therapies, our team is driven by a deep passion for soft tissue therapy and a commitment to helping every client overcome pain and enhance their overall well-being. We’ve created a space where expert care meets a personalised approach—ensuring every treatment supports lasting recovery, improved movement, and a better quality of life. It’s this dedication that makes Advance SRM more than just a clinic—it’s a place where real progress happens.
