Clinical Soft Tissue Therapy

Expert Soft Tissue Care.

At Advance SRM Therapies, we specialise in clinical soft tissue therapy – a hands-on, evidence-informed approach that helps people reduce pain, improve function, and feel more at ease in their bodies.

Whether you’re recovering from injury, living with chronic or neurological conditions, or simply dealing with everyday tension, we provide skilled, time-rich therapy shaped around your needs.

This isn’t a sports massage. It’s not a spa treatment. It’s focused, adaptable, and designed to make a difference. Whether your needs are clinical, complex, or ongoing – this is therapy shaped around you, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Clinical Soft Tissue Therapy

Our clients come to us with:

  • Chronic pain or unresolved symptoms (e.g. fibromyalgia, long COVID, sciatica)
  • Neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS, or cerebral palsy
  • Holding patterns due to stress, trauma or neurodivergence (SEN clients included)
  • Post-surgical restriction or recovery, including abdominal and breast surgery
  • Musculoskeletal pain – neck, back, shoulder, hip, jaw, etc.
  • Postural or functional discomfort – from sedentary work, sports or life
  • General feelings of tension, fatigue, or disconnection from the body

We work with adults, teens, and children. You don’t need a diagnosis to book.

  • Full hour-long sessions are the norm.
  • A focus solely on soft tissue therapy – we place the soft tissue at the centre of of what we do, not just an extra service
  • Time to explore underlying tension patterns, not just treat the symptom
  • Skilled touch, clinical awareness, and genuine collaboration
  • Trusted
  • Fascial and soft tissue techniques
  • Myofascial release & neuromuscular therapy
  • Movement awareness and gentle functional repatterning
  • Scar tissue therapy (if relevant)
  • Rehab support via Physitrack, where movement-based care is needed
  • Technology such as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy or Lymphtouch where clinically appropriate
  • Kinesiology taping for ongoing support between sessions
  • Space to discuss life factors contributing to physical stress or overload

We work responsively, and always within scope – referring on when appropriate.

Client's Questions Answered

Can soft tissue therapy help chronic or complex conditions?

Yes. We regularly support clients living with long-term pain, neurological conditions, and postural challenges. Our goal is to reduce restriction, improve comfort, and support function – not offer “cures.”

Not at all. We treat a wide range of clients, including those with stress-related tension, fatigue, or mobility issues. Some clients visit monthly as a preventative measure.

No. Techniques are adapted to your body. Some can feel intense, but we work with you and your comfort levels – and we do not “force” tissue to change.

Yes – when relevant, we build personalised home plans via Physitrack, the same tool used by many physiotherapists.

Clinical soft tissue therapy includes a full assessment and is tailored to your specific presentation — whether that’s a chronic condition, post-surgical recovery, or a complex pain pattern. It’s our most in-depth service, designed for clients who need more than a general treatment. For sports-specific recovery and rehab, we also offer Remedial Sports Massage & Rehab.

Absolutely. We regularly work with clients who have prosthetic limbs or have undergone amputation. Soft tissue therapy can help manage compensatory pain, muscle tension, residual limb discomfort, and scar tissue that often develop around the affected area. Your therapist will adapt every session to your body, your comfort, and your goals – whether that’s pain relief, improved mobility, or supporting rehabilitation. Just let us know when you book so we can plan your session accordingly.

Yes. Hypermobility and EDS require a careful, informed approach – not all therapists understand the difference. We adapt pressure, technique, and pacing to support your joints and soft tissue without overstretching or flaring symptoms. If you’ve been told “you’re just flexible,” we take it more seriously than that.

Yes. We’ll avoid techniques and equipment that could interfere with your device (such as shockwave therapy), but hands-on soft tissue work is absolutely safe and effective. Just let us know at booking so we can plan appropriately.

Yes – and we understand that “just have a deep tissue massage” isn’t the answer. We tailor pressure, session length, and pacing to your tolerance and energy levels. Many clients with fibromyalgia or ME/CFS find that regular, carefully managed sessions help reduce flare-ups and improve day-to-day comfort.

Yes. We offer Lymphatouch therapy alongside clinical soft tissue work to support lymphatic drainage, reduce swelling, and improve tissue health – particularly after surgery or cancer treatment. Your therapist will assess what’s appropriate for your stage and symptoms.

Yes. Surgical metalwork is more common than people think, and it doesn’t prevent treatment. We work around and alongside implant sites, focusing on the soft tissue tension, scar adhesions, and compensatory patterns that often develop post-surgery.

Yes. We offer sensory-aware sessions with adjustable lighting, minimal small talk if preferred, clear communication about what’s happening and when, and full control over pressure and pacing. You don’t need to mask here – just tell us what helps, and we’ll adapt.

Yes, with appropriate technique. We avoid high-pressure work on vulnerable areas and focus on gentle, effective soft tissue techniques that relieve pain and improve mobility without risk. Your safety always comes first.

Yes. We adjust pressure and technique to minimise bruising risk. It’s worth mentioning your medication when you book so your therapist can plan the session with that in mind.
