Client's Questions Answered
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed. You can book directly – whether you’re seeking treatment, recovery support, or a second opinion.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online, call us directly, or send us a message. We’re happy to help you choose the right service if you’re not sure.
How long is each session?
Most sessions are 60 minutes, including time to check in and discuss your needs. Shorter or longer appointments may be available – we’ll help you choose what’s right when booking.
Do you offer same-day or urgent appointments?
Yes – we understand that pain, flare-ups, or urgent concerns can’t always wait. We offer same-day and out-of-hours appointments, subject to availability. Please note: These appointments carry an additional £25 emergency fee, which will be clearly outlined at the time of booking.
What should I expect from my first appointment?
Your first session includes time to talk through your health history, current concerns, and goals. We’ll assess your needs and begin hands-on treatment if appropriate.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear something comfortable and easy to move in. Depending on the area being treated, you may be asked to remove certain items of clothing, but you’ll always be kept warm, covered appropriately, and treated with respect.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available in our private car park. We’ll send you directions and full details when you book your appointment.
Can I wait at the clinic before my appointment?
Yes – we have a small indoor waiting area available if you arrive early. To help us manage space and parking, we kindly ask that clients aim to arrive no more than a few minutes before their scheduled time.
How do I access the clinic when I arrive?
We operate on an appointment-only basis. When you arrive, please use the buzzer system at the door – a member of the team will let you in promptly. If you’re early, we kindly ask you to wait until your appointment time to help avoid congestion inside and outside the clinic.
Do you accept insurance or health plans?
We don’t invoice insurers directly, but we can provide receipts and treatment notes if your plan allows self-submission. We are covered by some, but not all providers. Please check with your provider in advance.
Is your clinic accessible?
Yes – our clinic is wheelchair accessible and we can adapt sessions for sensory or mobility needs. If you have specific access requirements, please let us know when booking.
Do you have toilet facilities?
Yes – we have a unisex and fully accessible toilet available for all clients to use.
Do you work with children or teenagers?
Yes, we treat children of all ages – from sports-related issues to developmental or sensory concerns. Our approach is calm, flexible and age-appropriate.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course. You’re welcome to bring a parent, carer, partner or friend to your session. For under-18s, a parent or guardian must be present.
Does treatment hurt?
We work with, not against, your body. Some techniques may feel intense, but treatment should never be painful. You’re always in control, and we adjust pressure to suit you.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans change. However, late cancellations make it difficult for us to offer that time to someone else.
– Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at 50% of the session fee
– Missed appointments (no-shows) will be charged in full
These terms may be updated over time – we’ll always confirm the current policy when you book.
How do I know if soft tissue therapy is right for me?
Soft tissue therapy helps with pain, tension, stiffness, and reduced movement – whether from injury, posture, stress, or a long-term condition. If something in your body isn’t moving or feeling right, we’re happy to talk it through and advise if this is the right approach for you.
What’s the difference between what you offer and a regular massage?
We’re not a spa or beauty clinic. Our work is clinical and evidence-informed – focused on soft tissue health, pain management, injury recovery and performance. Our therapists are highly trained and sessions are always tailored to your goals.
Can soft tissue therapy help even if I’ve had the problem for years?
Yes. We work with many people living with chronic pain, long-standing injuries or complex conditions. Even if you’ve tried other treatments, soft tissue therapy can often help improve comfort, movement, or quality of life.
What if I feel nervous or unsure about treatment?
That’s completely normal. We take the time to explain everything, work at your pace, and check in regularly during treatment. You’re always in control – and we’ll never rush or assume.
Will I be expected to undress?
Only if it’s necessary to access the area being treated. You’ll be given privacy to change, covered appropriately, and we’ll explain everything beforehand. We also adapt techniques if you’d prefer to stay clothed.
Can I have treatment if I'm pregnant?
Yes – we offer advanced pregnancy massage and postnatal care, tailored to your trimester and comfort. Our team has specialist training in working safely during and after pregnancy.
Can I buy anything to help at home?
Yes – we stock selected products in our clinic shop, including resistance bands, silicone cups, cork rollers and tools for home support and rehab. Ask us for guidance at your session.
