Oncology Massage
What Oncology Massage Can Help With
Clients seek oncology massage for support with:
- Cancer treatment fatigue and body heaviness
- Muscular tension, tightness, or postural pain
- Sleep disruption or restlessness
- Anxiety or physical agitation
- Neuropathy or tingling sensations
- A safe way to reconnect with their body after treatment
We work carefully, adapting pressure, pace, and positioning based on your medical background, energy levels, and comfort.
Who Is This For?
We work with people:
- Currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or hormone treatment
- Recovering from surgery (e.g. lumpectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgery)
- In long-term remission with residual symptoms
- Managing treatment side effects like fatigue, pain, or scarring
- With secondary or palliative needs seeking gentle support
If you’re living with tightness, numbness, or discomfort around surgical scars, we also offer specialist Scar Tissue Therapy (link) – a gentle, external treatment designed to help improve mobility and comfort after surgery.
If you’re unsure whether massage is safe for you, we’re happy to talk things through – and consult with your medical team if needed.

Time to talk, rest, or just be – we understand that some days are harder than others – your comfort is our priority, not how you “show up.”

Client's Questions Answered
Is massage safe if I’m having treatment?
In most cases, yes – with appropriate adjustments. Oncology massage avoids deep pressure, works around port sites, scars, and swelling, and is tailored to your needs. We may ask for GP or consultant clearance if you’re under active medical care.
What does a session look like?
Sessions are calm, unhurried, and adapted fully to how you’re feeling. We’ll discuss what’s comfortable for you – and you can pause or stop at any time.
Can I have massage after surgery or radiotherapy?
Yes, once wounds are healed. We can work gently around scars or radiation areas using non-invasive techniques.
What if I’m too tired or unwell to come?
We understand. You can reschedule without penalty – and we’re happy to adjust session length or pace if needed.
Can I have a massage if I have a stoma?
Yes. We regularly work with clients who have stomas. We’ll position you comfortably, work around the site, and adapt the session to suit you. Just let us know when you book so we can plan ahead.
Do I need my consultant's permission before booking?
Not always, but if you’re currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy, we may ask you to check with your medical team first. This is to make sure we tailor the session safely – not to create a barrier.
Can you work around a PICC line or port?
Absolutely. We’ll avoid the area entirely and adapt positioning and pressure accordingly. Many of our oncology clients have lines or ports in place during treatment – it’s something we’re experienced in working around.
I'm in remission - is oncology massage still relevant for me?
Yes. Many clients come to us months or years after treatment for ongoing tension, fatigue, scar discomfort, or simply because they value the safe, adaptive approach. There’s no expiry on when this support is helpful.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear whatever’s comfortable – we’ll work around clothing, medical devices, or dressings as needed. You don’t need to prepare anything. Just come as you are.
